Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions about myFLIGHTDATA features, compliance, and capabilities.

Platform Overview

myFLIGHTDATA is a flight operations management system designed specifically for aviation operators. It brings flight operations, aircraft, pilots, training and qualification records, maintenance information, manuals, forms, and compliance tracking together in one system.

Instead of maintaining separate spreadsheets, paper forms, files, and disconnected programs, operators can manage their day-to-day operation from one centralized platform.

No. myFLIGHTDATA can be used by both Part 91 and Part 135 operators.

The system can be configured around the size and type of operation so that an operator is not forced to manage functions that do not apply to its operation.

myFLIGHTDATA helps manage the information operators routinely need to know about their flights, aircraft, pilots, and operation.

Depending on the modules being used, this can include flight and trip information, pilot qualifications and currency, training, aircraft status, maintenance discrepancies, electronic aircraft maintenance logs, MEL items, company manuals and forms, read-and-acknowledge records, FRATs, operational records, and other compliance information.

Yes. We can assist with transitioning existing aircraft, pilot, training, maintenance, and other applicable records into myFLIGHTDATA.

The exact migration process depends on the system currently being used and the type and condition of the existing records. We work with the operator during implementation to determine the best transition method.

Yes. User permissions can be assigned based on an individual's responsibilities.

Pilots, maintenance personnel, management, safety personnel, schedulers, and other users can be provided access to the information and functions appropriate to their roles without giving everyone unrestricted access to the entire system.

Yes. This is an important difference between myFLIGHTDATA and simply purchasing an off-the-shelf software program.

ACCG works with operators on implementation, configuration, procedures, manuals, record transition, and applicable FAA requirements. When an FAA authorization, manual revision, or other implementation action is required, we can assist with that process as well.

FAA & Compliance

The FAA does not approve myFLIGHTDATA as a software product. The operator remains responsible for complying with applicable FAA regulations and obtaining any required approvals or authorizations.

myFLIGHTDATA is designed specifically to help operators meet those requirements by providing the records, monitoring, documentation, and operational tools needed to support their compliance programs.

myFLIGHTDATA, eSMS, and eCASS are currently being used by FAA-regulated operators as part of their operations and compliance programs. When FAA approval or authorization is required for implementation, ACCG can also assist with that process.

Yes. Pilot qualifications, training, checking, currency, and expiration dates can be tracked within the system.

This allows management and pilots to identify upcoming requirements and potential qualification or currency issues before they become operational problems.

Many company records, forms, manuals, and operational processes can be maintained electronically using myFLIGHTDATA.

Whether a particular paper record can be eliminated depends on the applicable regulation, the operator's FAA authorizations, and the procedures contained in its manuals. ACCG can help operators revise their procedures and obtain required FAA authorization for electronic systems when applicable.

Yes. One of the major advantages of maintaining operational records electronically is the ability to quickly locate and present requested information.

myFLIGHTDATA helps organize records and supporting documentation so management can respond efficiently to FAA inspections, surveillance, certification activities, and other compliance reviews.

Technology & EFB

Yes. myFLIGHTDATA can support an operator's EFB program, including electronic manuals, forms, operational information, and other approved EFB functions.

EFB authorization and implementation requirements depend on the operator and intended use. ACCG can assist with development of the EFB program, manual procedures, testing, implementation, and applicable FAA authorization.

The myFLIGHTDATA mobile application is designed to support offline operations for applicable functions. Required information can be made available on the device, and pilots can continue using supported functions when an internet connection is unavailable.

Information entered offline can synchronize with the system when connectivity is restored.

Safety & SMS

eSMS and eCASS expand myFLIGHTDATA beyond day-to-day flight operations.

eSMS provides tools for managing an operator's Safety Management System, including safety reporting, risk assessment, corrective actions, monitoring, Safety Performance Indicators, and safety assurance activities.

eCASS provides tools to support a Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System, including maintenance program monitoring, findings, corrective actions, vendor oversight, and continuing analysis.

The systems can work together so operational, maintenance, and safety information does not have to be managed in separate programs.

Yes. Part 135 operators are now subject to the requirements of 14 CFR Part 5.

Existing Part 135 certificate holders generally have until May 28, 2027 to develop and implement a compliant SMS. New Part 135 applicants subject to the current requirements must develop and implement their SMS as part of the certification process.

ACCG can assist with both development of the SMS program and implementation using eSMS.

No. eSMS provides the tools to manage the operator's Safety Management System, but the operator remains responsible for its safety decisions and SMS.

For example, Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) are established by the operator based on its operation and safety objectives. eSMS allows those SPIs to be entered, monitored, measured, and managed. Operators may also use available templates as a starting point.
